Silver bullet- For the past 5 years, I have had the opportunity to sit on multiple yearly mentor panels for the new hires at Corteva Agriscience . Yesterday completing another panel. I vividly remember my trainings at the headquarter office and who presented on my mentor panels…. the advice, wise words and motivation they poured into us. Quite frankly, some of the advice I pass onto new hires is the very same advice I was given. I don’t have the silver bullet for navigating a new role or new location but I do know what has worked for me in my sales role. - Be yourself. People buy from people so be genuine in your interactions. - Celebrate the wins. It makes the tough days/seasons easier. - Give yourself some grace. You don’t have to be perfect or know everything. - Take the office day. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t. - There’s a difference between confidence & arrogance.
