Balance-

Balance-  I was recently on a mentor panel for the new Corteva Agriscience Associate Territory Managers. One of the questions asked was “How do you avoid burnout?” Isn’t that the magic question to solve?!  Here are some of my thoughts- 1. You are no good to anyone if you aren’t good to yourself.  Take care of yourself first.  2. Take the vacation, take the days off. Work will be there when you return.  3. Priorities and boundaries are key. Especially when you work from home.   4. Celebrate the wins. It makes the hard days easier.    “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” ❤️

Mow your own lawn-

Image
Mow your own lawn- I grew up with a gardener. He did it all- mowed, seeded, etc. Between my dad & our gardener, our yard was always perfect.  Fast forward to being a single home owner, I didn’t even know where to start. And to be honest, I even searched Facebook market place multiple times trying to find someone to do it for me…. no success. So, I did it myself. I mowed my own lawn. & I am proud of myself.  Here’s why- - My mind told me I couldn’t do it for all the reasons above - I convinced myself I wasn’t capable; didn’t have the skills - I doubted myself  There is something so powerful in doing things your mind/others told you you couldn’t.  You can do it. I know you can, prove it to yourself. Make yourself proud.

High five your heart-

High five your heart- I was recently listening to a podcast and she was discussing picking yourself back up after love followed by loss.  There’s two very profound excerises I learned from the podcast I want to share-  5,4,3,2,1- on days where you don’t feel like getting out of bed. Count down from 5 then get up.  High five your heart- every morning place both hands over your heart and tell yourself these 3 sentences…. “I am okay. I am safe. I am loved.”  It is scientifically proven the way we talk to ourselves directly affects our self esteem & outlook on life. I hope these excersises help you if you too experiencing hardship in your life ❤️

Enough-

Image
Enough- Not as in “I have had enough” but as in “I am enough”. It is no secret talking about self love and self care is in my vocabulary but doesn’t always mean I practice what I preach.  Like some, I too struggle with feeling worthy, loved, enough. Especially when things start to get hard or uncomfortable.  Life is isn’t easy. It’s flat hard. There’s incredible heartbreak, loss, disappointment, resentment, failure… the list goes on.  So- here’s our reminder to give ourselves a little grace both in our personal life & in our careers. Rest assured being vulnerable with ourselves/others doesn’t diminish work ethic, success or drive.  We are worthy. We are loved. And we are most certainly enough.  My tattoo done by the wonderful @gracedoestattoos (Instagram) in Bakersfield, CA.
